Intercede, the indentity and credential management company, announced that it has launched a “plug-in” product that enables its MyID credential management system to be used with Microsoft’s Forefront Identity Manager. This development will enable Forefront users to have enhanced protection from identity fraud that is compliant with recent US Federal standards.
Some more information on last week's news of the MSFT tie-up would be useful.

This is demonstrated by the comprehensive level of support we have received from Microsoft technical staff during the integration and development stages of this project.
Our key message is that Intercede MyID in combination with Microsoft's FIM enables our joint customers to easily increase productivity through the use of MyID and FIM's integrated identity management business processes, to enhance security with smart card and token based windows logon, and to save money by fully utilising their existing investments in Microsoft technology. "
Robert Jones, Microsoft IDA Program Manager, said:
"Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager provides companies with numerous opportunities to cut costs and reduce workloads. Intercede is a great example of how our partner companies are leveraging new features and technology improvements in our products to help joint customers save time and money."
And as per this article in a paper local to Intercede (LON:IGP) the partnership opens up an enormous opportunity to access many more customers in the US primarily:
Richard Parris, Intercede's chairman and chief executive, said: "It enables Microsoft customers to go to a higher level of security. It's the first acknowledgement from Microsoft that we have something their customers need.
"It's up to this company to take that endorsement and turn it into revenue. It opens up a lot of new customers."
The group's MyID system, which also provides access to secure buildings, is used by major businesses, including aerospace giant Lockheed Martin and government agencies worldwide.
Mr Parris said the partnership with Microsoft gave it access to the US firm's many thousands of medium-sized business customers – a potentially lucrative move.
"At the moment our customers are some of the biggest in the world," he said. "But this allows us to get our product to medium-sized enterprises, which opens up a whole new area.
"This company is capable of turning over a significantly larger amount of money. We are just at the beginning of the growth of this market."
Intercede's technology is used worldwide to manage millions of identities. It is being used by 14 US federal agencies, and has customers in Europe and the Middle East.
