Intercede Group, the Leicestershire based supplier of identity credential management software systems, has announced that MyID v9, which was launched last week, will be used in the first Personal Identity Verification - Interoperable (PIV-I) smartcard. Intercede’s partner, Symantec Corporation, has been certified by the US Federal Public Key Infrastructure Policy Authority, as the first vendor authorised to issue PIV-I smartcards. The PIV-I standard is anticipated to be used by many US Federal agencies and contractors in the coming years.

Intercede has also confirmed its first customers of MyID v9 - consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton and the global professional services firm ICF International. MyID v9 will be used for the entire end-to-end PIV identity and credential management processes for both companies.
