Just for info. on investing in India. there is a small UK based closed ended fund Infrastructure India (LON:IIP) that has been been doing really well (to say the least!) over the last couple of days. It is still trading at a massive discount to book value. Stocko rating is high on value, but low on quality. Not for everyone, but take a look. I hold a small position on this.
I also hold other mainstream funds invested in India and Asia, but I don't directly hold shares as I don't know the market very well, other than the obvious TATA Infosys, etc.
Probably sacrilege to say here on a stockpickers/researchers site but I have a fairly high weighting in India as I really think it's a great place to be going forward but I'm afraid it's all in a tracker (Lyxor MSCI ETF - LYX MSCI INDIA ETF (LON:INRL) ) and an IT (Aberdeen New India IT - Aberdeen New India Investment Trust (LON:ANII) ).
Hard enough keeing tabs on UK listed stocks for me to then take on individual stocks in a market like India whereas I think (hope) that these two give me a good spread and happy to let the people at ANII do the stockpicking for me..
