Is Pharma (LON:ISPH) , the specialist hospital medicines and equipment supplier, recently released a trading update for the period ending 31st March 2010. The group, which specialises in providing speciality pharmaceuticals and medical devices in core areas such as critical care, oncology and neurology, saw its revenue increase 73% to £12.2m in 2009 (2008: £7.0m) and its gross profit up 67% to £7.1m for the same period (2008: £4.3m). Results for the year ending 31st March 2010 are expected to show post tax profits and earnings per share materially ahead of expectations and in line on all other parameters. The Board will provide a detailed update of progress when the Preliminary Results are announced on 2 June 2010.
With international launches of product brands such as Variquel, and the acquisition of patented, complimentary brands such as Aequasyal (Aquoral) and Episil, the company aims to continue its focus towards launching and growing its newer, higher margin brands. The announcement gave the withering share price a much needed boost!
