Wow, what an upgrade since moving over to AWS. I just logged in to check everything was okay. Screens work, check. Folios work, check. And it's so damn fast!
I saw it mentioned in some other posts and I really think it deserves its own congratulatory post to say; thanks for the upgrade!

Using the Safari web inspector on a Mac I clicked reload on this page and it transferred over 4.5Mb of data! 4.7Mb in fact, for a few hundred words of text and a handful of icons. I thought surely much of that must get cached as it common across the site but clicking on links at random (not reloading) gives transfer sizes between 4.5 and 7Mb for every page I tried. I can hardly believe this is possible so maybe I made a mistake but for comparison, reloading the Guardian front page transfers less than 250Kb of data, BBC home page around 1Mb, a Sharescape Richard Beddard article page with lots of text and graphs, 330Kb.
Throwing hardware resources at inefficient software is not new but it has always been waving a white flag rather than being a bold leap forward. What is fast today is Amazon's network connection.
However, congratulations to the migration crew as these things do not always go to plan.
