Leni Gas & Oil (LON:LGO) have been making steady progress on its Trinidad operations so far this year and are now running ahead of expectation for its 2013 programme. The company revealed on June 12th that production in Trinidad is now running at 315 barrels per day and firmly on target to reach and or exceed the projected 400 barrels per day this year.

The bulk of production is coming from the Goudron Field which covers an area of 11.4 square kilometres in Trinidad’s far southeast region, from horizon down to 5,000 feet , the block incorporates some 90 well sites that are considered suitable for production and direct pipeline access. Goudron’s combined production potential is estimated at between 1,000 and 4,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).A number of further well completions are planned during H2 and also a new drilling campaign to exploit further the significant untapped potential of the Goudron field estimated at some 7.2 million barrels of 2P reserves.
