I am in the process of investigating options for a Trading Journal Spreadsheet Template to log my trades and produce a basic summary analysis of the results. The journal needs to be able to take account of the fact a position can be scaled into and scaled out of, in multiple transactions. This should be achievable in an excel based document with pivot tables and macros to facilitate the analysis, but my excel skills are probably not at the required level to achieve this.
How do others keep track of their trades and analyze their result or statistics? The type of summary analysis of interest would include total number of trades, % of winners/losers, average % gain or loss? Does anyone have examples of templates which they are willing to share? Best would be if the Stockopedia portfolio could be exported directly, but maybe this is too ambitious.
I am aware of web based solutions with monthly subscriptions, but these are often pricy and although I'm open to suggestions, at this stage i would prefer the excel based solution.
