Mello is back with double the number of investor events in May.  We are returning to the luxurious surroundings at the Clayton Conference Centre in Chiswick, London W4 and running a new event on the first day....Wednesday 15th May which is called the Trusts and Funds show..
http://melloevents.com/trusts-funds/

This new event has a fabulous line up of speakers and quite a few panel sessions with fund managers and investors dedicated to small company investing and the strategies around it so very worthwhile attending.

Then the following two days on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th May are all about Mello2019 and the opportunity to meet up to 60 small to medium size growth companies with good stock rankings along with 15 top quality Keynote speakers, and about eight educational seminars and panel sessions. Nearly all the companies will be doing 35 minute presentations with Q&A and we are expecting over 1000 attendees so plenty of fellow investors and Stockopedia users to network with.

Paul Scott and Graham Neary will also be doing a live show and running through the daily results and updates and there will even be an investor voted Awards show on the Thursday evening. Stockopedia will be there to answer questions and do a number of presentations to help subscribers make the most of the best data available to investors.

Why not come and join us for a couple of quality days with like minded investors ?         Everything you need to know is here....http://melloevents.com/event/

The tickets are available to buy for just one day or both days which works out better value and the extreme value proposition is that you can add the Mello Trusts and Funds event day for just a tenner....bargain !

If you have been to any Mello events before then you are instantly adopted as part of the Mello community and your loyalty is rewarded by receiving an invitation to buy early bird tickets to each event at half price. You will have received that email with a discount code which went out last week.

For any Stockopedia readers who would like to attend Mello2019 as highlighted by Paul in his SCVR and have never been before...there is a 40% discount to ticket prices if you enter the following code in the box when ordering....Stocko40

Looking forward to seeing…

David - Are the Nov dates above for Derby?

Agree about the Mello discount pricing - Somewhat erratic.

To build an event you need investors to buy tickets early (early bird) and then allow the rest to buy at their leisure. This works perfectly when partners like Stockopedia and ShareScope are fully involved promoting the events but neither of them were and did not mailshot their subscribers or have stands as they are committed to upgrading their systems and all the workforce and effort needed for that. I fully understand that is their priority. Separately we were  let down by Investors Chronicle.

That left us with 80 unsold Stockopedia & ShareScope tickets and MoneyWeek stepped in as the only previously untapped quality outlet to get the numbers we needed at the last minute with two weeks to go....

If I do not get the numbers we need then the speakers and companies get hacked off and we do not have the quality event that you are all very happy with.

If you do not think the event is worth what you paid then that is a completely different argument. If people do not buy discounted tickets early enough next time then I will reserve the right to increase prices rather than reduce them but attracting a few new investors is also important if you want Mello to be vibrant.

Hi David,

Will the videos be available to all to watch, even if not attended , were they in PI last time?

Thanks John

Those who bought a ticket whether they attended or not will be given access to the videos and they are currently being worked on to sync slides and edit where necessary to make ready to view. Some company videos will also be available on the PI World website but certainly not the Keynote speakers and panel sessions etc.

Great event David,
Thank you and the Mello team. I thought that the 'funds' day worked really well. Great speakers, all of those I saw were impressive....Paul Marriage, John Baron, Richard Bernstein and Stephen English to name a few.

Looking forward to the November event which I assume will be at Derby?

Derby is nice and central and has good railway links

Derby works for me too. Or if Derby isn't feasible for any reason, somewhere else outside of London and the South East.

Derby and Chiswick are both OK

My vote for Derby.
Thank you for the Chiswick event, David. Although I only managed 1 day, it was very useful.

Next up the Mello team are looking to run a one day educational event in early September with a theme of 'Accounting made simple' with Paul Scott, Graham Neary, Steve Clapham, Leon Boros & other workshop hosts featuring companies with management that have driven steady investment returns over the long term.

We'll invite entrepreneurial directors like Jonathan Lander VLE & David Cicurel JDG to tell us what they look for in the accounts of companies they acquire & reject...However not expecting to have very many full company presentations as these are educational workshop type sessions. Thoughts?

What kind of educational workshops would you like based around this accounts/balance sheet tutorial?
We probably need to charge £195 for the day to include a lunch & drinks with usual discounts for Mello regulars. Does this sound worthwhile at a venue probably just north of London? Do you prefer midweek or a Saturday ?

All comments and suggestions gratefully received

David

David ,

Great idea I could I do with learning my way around balance sheets etc .

Midweek or Saturday no fussed either way , not so keen on London through traffic and parking can be a nightmare .

Not sure if you have thought of Milton Keynes (good transport links and great parking ).

Also do you have any idea when the videos from the recent MELLO will be available I paid for a one day ticket in order to access them .

Sorry if I seem impatient just keen to see the content that's all !!

Thanks for all your work very much appreciated

It will only be a couple of more days. PI World needed to get the company videos done first as they are more time sensitive
