Mello2020 has launched..... Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st May

Mello is back with two investor events in May. We are returning to the excellent facilities at the Clayton Conference Centre in Chiswick, London W4 and running a two day company event alongside the Mello Trusts and Funds show which will be held on the Tuesday 19th May.

Book all three days off and put them in your diaries. The two day event on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st May is our Mello2020 and the opportunity to meet up to 60 small to medium size growth companies with good stock rankings along with 15 top quality Keynote speakers, and about eight educational seminars and panel sessions. Nearly all the companies will be doing 30 minute presentations with Q&A and we are expecting over 1200 attendees so plenty of fellow investors and Stockopedia users to network with.

Stockopedia will be there to answer questions and do a number of presentations to help subscribers make the most of the best data available to investors and Ed Croft will be one of our keynote speakers in the theatre on the main stage. I do not know if Keith has requested a particular day but we also need to balance the number of speakers for each day and some may be on panels as well. We aim to produce the programme schedule about a month before this time as we have launched nearly a month earlier.

As a point of interest, one of the reasons I like Keith Ashworth-Lord is that Castlefield Fund Partners are based in Manchester. I run a SIGnet group there and contacted them in respect to them hosting one of our meeting in their offices. They were extremely accommodating, giving us the use of their boardroom for the day. We built the agenda around the Buffettology fund and the stocks within it. Andrew Vaughan joined our meeting part way through and spoke to us about business investment perspective.

There approach and engagement with the private investor is quite excellent.

Keith A-L, Andy Brough, Stephen English, Judith Mackenzie, Gervais Williams, Ed Page Croft and Lord John Lee are all top quality speakers and we will have lots more still to confirm which day they can attend. many will also feature on panel sessions too.

We now have 20 companies signed up and will add about five a week to the website along with the information on which day they plan to exhibit and do presentations.

I am a relatively new investor with very few contacts in the small-mid cap investing world (but very keen to learn from anyone and everyone with wisdom to share). Would this be an event suited to individuals who might not have a wide network of contacts / not know anyone else attending the event?

Hi, attending something like this gives you a condensed learning experience. It is very relaxed and everyone is there to help. ShareSoc and SIGnet will have a stand, they are happy to discuss and introduce. I highly recommend it.

We have lots of relaxation areas and there will be presentations, workshops and panels all day every day so something will interest you all the way through and it really is a learning environment. The MelloBASH at the end of each day in the main theatre is highly recommended

Six more companies have signed up this week icluding Newmark Security, Ixico, 1pm and BP Marsh with Treatt and Biffa likely to join us too.We have good quality companies and in these markets the prices are becoming extremely attractive.

Lord John Lee and David Stredder are both in the Weekend FT today talking about their journey to ISA millionaire status. A good read.

Just to mention.....John is certainly an ISA millionaire whereas I am certainly not especially after the last few weeks. Mello is still very much going ahead even if investors currently think the end of the world is nigh. Stay positive everyone... we are even planning an open air Summer event

I have just received an e ail from the hotel operator (Hilton) cancelling my hotel booking for Mello - two months in advance! Makes me wonder if I am about to get a similar email from BA cancelling my flights.
