Executive Summary

Melorio plc is a support services group providing vocational training and assessment across a growing range of industry sectors. Whilst the government is committed to provide funding for both Train to Gain and Apprenticeships, Melorio is focused on sectors of industry where there is strong demand for training and assessment, and where demand is set to continue across the economic cycle. The identification of economic demand, combined with a strong commitment from the major political parties to the Leitch agenda up-skilling the United Kingdom, puts the group in a strong position to capitalise on opportunities and gives good visibility of earnings. Melorio currently employs approximately 500 people, operating from 28 centres across the United Kingdom.

Business Model

The Group aims to expand through the organic development and acquisition of quality vocational training providers in sectors which have some of the following characteristics: (a) significant demand from both the employer and the employee for training and assessment; and (b) regulatory, legislative or industry drivers increasing demand for training and qualifications.

The Group seeks to:

  • develop a training and assessment offering of the highest standard to meet economic demand;
  • acquire profitable businesses with good reputations, strong management teams, high learner achievement rates and good sales and marketing capabilities;
  • retain and incentivise the management teams of acquired businesses;
  • run acquired businesses with an absolute focus on operational excellence and strong financial control; and
  • obtain group wide benefits through the sharing of best practice, client and funding body relationships.

The Group has delivered on this strategy through the continuing development of Learning World, and the recent acquisitions of HB Group and Zenos.
