Any recommendations for an app which will pick up trades from different platforms and consolidate data for P & L and tax reporting purposes? I use HL, II, Charles Schwab and Degiro.
My excel skills are poor as I was educated pre-decimalisation and I have recently realised I am out of my depth.
I have II and DeGiro accounts, and they both produce y/e summary reports for UK tax reporting. They summarise dividend income and tax by country of origin, and capital gains, and you can more or less plug these numbers straight into an online UK tax return.
I would imagine HL do the same, don't know about Schwab.
The Degiro one is found in 'Activity, reports..'
I forget where the II one is, I don't have a taxable account there anymore. And these reports only cover taxable accounts, so won't cover SIPP/ISA or overall P&L...
Thanks Brian, I am hoping to find an app where you can link the APIs from the brokers and it produces a summary and automatically picks up trades and drips etc. I am using Accointing for my crypto dabbling and it has been a revelation. This gave me the idea that there must be similar for stocks - I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before, it's like still nipping out to the builders merchants for some DIY kit when you could have ordered it online. Hard to break 60 years of habit!
It's not what you asked, but you've been able to do this with all UK and EU bank accounts since 2017, as common and open APIs were required as an open banking initiative.
It would be nice if the FCA did something similar. Accointing looks interesting too...
