The Company was established to build a portfolio of investments in the nanotechnology sector and its main country of operation is Switzerland. In 2008, the company was renamed Toumaz Holdings Ltd. to reflect the primary focus of the Group’s activities. Toumaz’s principal activity is the design and development of low power and ultra-low power integrated circuits and silicon chips for use in wireless and signal processing applications. Toumaz’s technology is applicable to a wide range of sectors and, in particular, in the field of nanoscale and nanopower applications. The AMx platform,Toumaz Holdings Ltd's core IP base acquired with Toumaz, allows the three main portfolio companies to develop and commercialise working chips for each of their initial target markets: the Sensium for Healthcare, Homeland Security, Sports and Fenix1 for Digital Audio and Video Broadcasting. Company History
- Toumaz Holdings Ltd was incorporated on 14 February 2005 originally under the name Nanoscience in the Cayman Islands and was admitted to AIM as an investment company on 30 March 2005.
- Between its admission to AIM and November 2005, the Company made two minority investments in the equity of AppliedSensor and XRT. In November 2005, Nanoscience acquired the entire issued share capital of Toumaz Technology in a reverse takeover transaction and, via Toumaz, a significant interest in Future Waves.
- In 2007, Nanoscience established Sentinel Healthcare Solutions as a demonstrator and channel to end user for Toumaz' products. Sentinel is initially focussed on developing dementia related applications.
- In 2008, the company was renamed Toumaz Holdings Ltd. to reflect the primary focus of the Group’s activities.
