New EU travel restrictions

For anyone who does not know new restrictions came in today that mean if you have not had your second vaccination in the last 9 months or a booster you will not be allowed to travel to the EU

As far as I can make out this applies to all EU countries but best to check for individual countries if you are traveling soon

How this will affect travel companies airlines we will have to wait and see

Some people will welcome this others myself included will see it as at best an hysteria driven over reaction

I won’t be going to any of those anyway and I had my 3rd in December, 2021. Plenty of time for people to get 3rd jabs before May if they need to and probably the rules will change again before then.

this has to chain, otherwise it is ongoing 6-9 monthly vaccinations to get into the EU.

Exactly unfortunately many of the posters below seem to believe if they ignore it does not exist or bizarrely the EU would make a policy only affecting travel from EU countries but not the UK

Funny how worked up some people get over a post warning about a change in EU policy for going on holiday to it’s member countries

Far bigger concerns going on in the world than this. I would be more worried about Ukraine, than a few travel restrictions in Europe, but each to their own.

That is an interesting point

How people interpret different risks and the effect on their behaviour which then effects economic activity and the world and or local economy

In my opinion Covid will be the biggest economic impact over the coming years not due to the virus but the reaction to the virus

I could be wrong it might be Ukraine and Russian stand off

Personally think it’s great. If mugs don’t get vaccinated then mugs can stay at home .

if your over 70 in ill health or both you could be right

If your not people may say your a mug to take 3 doses of a new vaccine within 10 months then carry on taking another one every 6-9 months

I do find the reaction of normally rational people to any disagreement with the mainstream covid view interesting
