(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

Due to conflicts and general prudence, I find it increasingly difficult to say anything useful or interesting in these threads. However, I'll go for Global Petroleum (LON:GBP) for the +20%.......given recent volatility there should be at least a 50/50 chance..... ;-)
I could make a range of suggestions on the downside, but I won't be thanked for any of them so I'll keep my own counsel on those.....

Tempting though it is to go for EO or SLG - odd how SLG seems to be a laggard when it comes to matters Cladhan - I think a pure punt has to be VAST (VST) on any positive outcome from QD in the KRG. I dont have any exposure ot the company but have a now very large position in NKO instead and obviously it wont react anywhere nearly as much on news. I was quite tempted to go for WBN as surely they are nearly out of cash and surviving on the support of the big shareholders and they woudlnt be doing that if somethign wasnt very close....
Looking longer term Im getting very interested in PFC and especially ROZ (both on the Venture) - I wont say too much but both fully funded and drilling very soon with a prize that, especially in the case of ROZ, could be incredible.
So VST for the UP
For the down PMG - sitll way over valued and Id guess any funding issue has to come soon and will be at a big discount.
Vast (VST) for me. If they find something, they'll be up a lot more than 20%.
I'm not going to put PMG as a down as it is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel. Can't think of ....oh, what about Xcite on fears that all heavy oil projects are now uninteresting following further statements by Statoil ref. North Sea tax, and Ozzie refusing to back down. I suspect he's been taking lessons from that nice Ugandan oil minister. (Or Gordon Broon).

Cladhan is going to be a stonker! Ok- we may not see the highs we were hoping for on success, but a good result should see a compfortable 20% by the end of the month.
I am also hoping that AEX will be up by more than 20% on news of a pipeline deal following the meeting of the regulator on 7th April, and my other main holding of SIA could announce a sale any time. But both could come later, whilst the first Cladhan drill result is expected in days. So this month an easy decision, and if EO. is up 20% I guess Sterling will be as well.

Hi fb - once again thanks!
I usually try to pick something that no-one else has, just to widen the comp. The possible list this time includes:
MAPLE - getting on well with building their sugar cane to ethanol plant. Meanwhile, the company is backed up by the oil/gas/refinery business. Below anyone's radar, it seems, but will presumably respond once the ethanol plant is up and running..... (not that that will be this month...)
VOLGA GAS - Now that the court case is settled in VGAS' favour, a negotiated settlement to get VM into production must be on the cards? Its been a long struggle....!
RHEOCHEM - Once the drilling fluids business is sold they will be left with a happy 10% of Athena, no debt and sufficient funds. But they have a court case looming in October - which seems to be keeping the SP down...
B*****r it! I shall go for EO. for the 'up' please - for the same reasons as everyone else.

Encore has not been fully credited with Burgman success, it has Cladhan TD, probably next week, and at least 1 sidetrack on Cladhan in April. There could also be further news on corporate restructuring and additions to this years drilling schedule.
It's a strange world where Parkmead, floating on a cushion of hot air, has been less affected by Osbournes blunder than the many good companies sitting on great assets and with multiple quality prospects ahead of them.

UP: AEX - May not happen this month but it might on all sorts of potential news in East Africa
DOWN: PMG - still way too high - we'll be right one month...
Was tempted to suggest GBP for the down - Double what is was before the Peters sold themselves some Namibian acreage, has been triple the price they bought shares themselves - down more than 10% from recent highs so maybe a further 20% fall is less likely.
