The discussion with a Bloomberg Quant describes how they screen for outperforming companies incurring an increasing % R&D spend and look for stable % gross margin as indicators of innovative and high-quality firms. They also discuss identifying recovery stocks by scoring improving analyst ratings.
Most of the innovation companies will inevitably be US, but one of these that Bloomberg highlight is from the UK….... RELX a company that owns about half of the world's academic publications and journals. It was considered to be in a dead wood industry prior to the advent of AI, but has become a "massive AI beneficiary" due to the large amount of valuable data it possesses that is useful for training AI.
