Headline shares are tipped to open seventy-five to eighty-five points lower today, according to financial websites, as investors consider new EU hedge fund regulation and Germany's ban on shorting. In the US last night, the Dow dropped 115 points at 10,511, the Nasdaq Composite lost 37 points at 2,317 and the S&P500 fell 16 points at 1,121. In Asia today, the Nikkei was last down 119.14 points at 10,123.5, while the Hang Seng ended the morning off 212.79 points at 19,732.15. Crude oil traded at $68.25 a barrel on Nymex. Gold settled at $1,207 an ounce.
