Print functionality using the app

I asked the help desk how to print screens/stock info using the app as couldn’t find anyway to do. Apparently they have not added this functionality to the app and have had minimal requests to add this basic feature so not on the wish list. If like me you use your iPad/phone in the evening and want to print out info for further investigation the next date then this is a must have.

If you agree with the above can you please reply to this discussion so that stockopedia are made aware of the requirement.

I can print on iPhone using the send symbol (box with arrow pointing upwards). Using this you can also save the print file as pdf. It’s not as good as printing from PC though.

I thought everything was on the "App" now?

I don't print anything, but I do look at the print screens, as you can see Stockreports going back in the past, which is very useful, although there was a 6 month gap on some stocks.

To be honest I have never printed anything from my ipad, I would not know how to.

On my ipad I can't scroll across, to see the columns on the right hand side, when looking at folios or screens.

Maybe they should ask us what features we want adding? I'm finding quite a few things that were on the old site missing.

Can you tell me how Upyrgunga. I can do this on Safari if I log into the website but not on the Stokopedia app.

What printer is your IPad/IPhone linked up to? You may need to “send” the Stock Report to the specific printer app for your printer. The printer app needs to have been installed on your device first.

It’s a wireless printer that I use all the time from phone and iPad. The issue is if you’re using the app there is no way of printing anything. I have since discovered that if you ignore the app and just use the website through safari then you can print. It’s just annoying that the app is missing such basic functionality

Printing anything from a website or an app is quite difficult anyway (regardless of the content). It usually involves some kind of right clicking and selecting a print option (as long as you have a printer set up one way or another). It will usually be that this print out is not formatted correctly and may appear with any number of adverts a ns extraneous content.

So it's not just a Stocko problem.

If I may a slight workaround which I have just successfully tested:

Go the bottom of a particular screen and the select download. Select Excel which will download the content to an Excel spreadsheet. From there it is very easy to print to your desired printer.

Just a note to add, it is very easy now to print to PDF, or even print to One Note, which is a fantastic way of keeping shreds of information all in one place. Also the OneNote App and the desktop app is superb.

I'm struggling to understand this. I thought it was all under the "App" now? There is actually no App. Ed said they will set up an App sometime but it has not happened yet.

If I search for Stockopedia on safari and sign on it still takes me to app.stockopedia.com.

If you can print on the website then use that for now.

Almost all modern websites are now compatible with various screen sizes. Try this:

Open the main Stockopedia site on a normal landscape webpage - full screen.

Now - resize that screen (using the normal windows / operating system) to resemble the shape of a phone or tablet.

Did you notice how the content reformats itself to be more appropriately laid out for the particular aspect ratio you have set up?

This is how modern websites and apps work - and the reason is so they can transfer to any screen size or aspect ratio.

So I have to shrink my pc screen so it fits on my ipad? Won't this change my screen for everything?

The problem with the new site is a lot of the left hand margin is taken up with headings or options and these change, I really hate this design, why they did not put them as overheads is beyond me.

Sorry what I meant was what make of printer you use. Each printer manufacturer has an app which you can install on your iPad . Once you have done that you should be able to send stock reports to that app for printing.

it’s a brother dcp but … if there isn’t a print button on the app or there’s no access to iPhone export then it really makes no difference

can you not do a screen save and then print that from your photos?

I think one issue is there is not an App despite what Stockopedia call it, if there was an App on the Apple store then you may get more functions.

yes I can do this but the info shown on a phone screen is nothing close to the info shown on a printable report.
