perhaps if you could give a sentence using the word we would be able to understand the context better?
Please provide an example of the use of of "take", e.g. in an RNS. Someone may then be able to answer your question.
I suspect flux88 is referring to the Transaction type used for the Directors' Dealings box on Stockopedia (found on each stock's Activity page), though can't immediately find an example.
Here
http://www.stockopedia.com/shares/directors-dealings/
Transaction type: TAKE
or EX or DRIP
Not sure what these mean.
Thanks.
TAKE means subscribed for shares in a placing (see todays Nautical RNS for an example)
DRIP means dividend re-investment program

Ah OK, flux88
Here are my understandings:
"TAKE" is acquisition of shares via a placing, rights issue or similar issuance
"EX" is exercise of share options
"DRIP" is acquisition of shares via a "Dividend ReInvestment Programme" (commonly known as a DRIP). I.e. taking shares in lieu of a cash dividend.
HTH,
Mark
I have been searching in vain for some time for these explanations. Is it not possible to have a glossary of abbreviated terms used on the site.
Thanks Marben for the explanation.
