Interesting to see these have only spiked up 7.5% this morning. Canadian close was up 34%, to C$0.79, which equates to approx 50p/sh UK side.

Evening all,
I've done a little research on this over the past couple of days.
I have to be honest I've been passed from pillar (excuse the pun) to lower footwall (sorry!) by the Department of Environment in the Newfoundland Ministry.
However, I can confirm that there has been a slight delay in getting the ministers decision for the environmental assessment of the crown pillar work at Nugget Pond. BUT, this is only a very minor delay and as I understand it, the decision should come through at the end of this week and the reasons are totally out of Ramblers hands and should have no impact on the final outcome - purely administrative issues within the ministry.
From what I can gather the delay is down to 2 things. Firstly, there were a number of cabinet changes in the Newfoundland ministry in January after the new premier, Kathy Dunderdale, was sworn into office in December. One of which was the environment minister.

Secondly, I understand that there was a slight amendment needed to the Crown Land Lease - apparently now rectified.
So the movement in the SP was not due to a leak...to be honest this isn't the main permit news we await anyway - this is just for the permit for mining the crown pillar at Nugget Pond (a sideshow to the Ming Mine), so why a leak on this would have caused a major SP fluctuation I'm not sure. I just wonder whether the company is starting to gain a greater audience in Canada, and we all know about the copper price...
Anyhow, I've since been in contact with the company and they are very relaxed about the situation. Particularly as I gather that the deadline for public comments passed on the 26th January with not 1 dissenter - which of course would have been the main stumbling block.
I understand that this slight delay in the ministers decision is not in any way holding up the plan to get the crown pillar mining commenced in Q2 as originally planned (the detailed mine plan is already being prepared).
I have a feeling we will hear news about Crown Pillar in the w/c 14th, not this coming week.
Very strong day here and Canada is holding onto our gains and actually its back up to CAD $0.73 as I write (46p).
