  • Examining a possible merger with Antichi Pellettieri SpA (AP), its leather-goods unit  based in Cavriago, Italy in which it previously sold shares to raise financing for expansion.
  • The companies expected to be in a position to announce the details of the merger by the end of March 2009.
  • The merger is believed to be aimed at simplifying the structure of the group by shortening its chain of control. This will bring with it a reinforced capital structure and streamlined decision making process.
