This week bought into RMG, the stock rank was high at 98, today it lost 5%, it appears they might be merging with Amazon & Hermes, which I think is a positive but it appears the market thinks not.
Being new to this should I sell at a loss or ride the wave?

I think the Amazon / Hermes discussions are with the Post Office about taking part of the Royal Mail (LON:RMG) business away. Until now Royal Mail had a monopoly on delivery of parcels for the Post Office.
This stems from the news yesterday that the new Post Office / RMG deal is non-exclusive. Taken all in all I'd say that's bad news for RMG.
Sadly Stockranks can only look backward to look forward, they can't predict this sort of thing. On a personal level the low quality measures would have put me off regardless of Stockrank - companies on thin margins need a very strong moat to protect them.

Thanks Timarr for the reply, learning by doing at the moment, your right about the stock rank looking forward, trying to invest in British companies that seem less risky from cv19 brexit etc.
Will keep an eye on it next week and cut -20%, it could always go the other way, either way will pull as there are plenty of other companies.

It's the only way. It can be painful, but ultimately it gives you control of ... everything. There's nothing in the world like financial security and the ultimate knowledge you can tell everyone to go take a long walk off a short pier :-)
Interesting exchange Tim & Charlie which prompted a thought that may explode my brain : we have to discrete sets of 'data' to work with.

I wonder if you held on to RMG and have benefitted from the 31% rise in SP?
Only asking because I was shook out of my small stake by my tight Stop Loss. I put it down to experience and haven't looked again until today.
