Hi,
O'Shaughnessy uses a metric he terms "Shareholder Yield" which is a combination of dividend yield and "Buyback Yield". Buyback Yield is defined as the rate of net share repurchases in a year.
For example, if a same company had 1,000,000 shares outstanding at beginning of year and 900,000 at end of year, the company's buyback yield would be 10%.
Is there a way to screen for this using the Stockopedia tools?
Thanks,
James
Hi James, this is something that we're working on at the moment. In the short-term, the one main dilution/buyback ratio that's available in the Screening Glossary is this one:
However, I appreciate that's a 5 year CAGR whereas you're probably focused on the year on year change. We will be adding more on this front. Feel free to raise a ticket via the Green Help & Feedback and I can give you more details offline.
Best,
M
