Shieldtech plc (formerly Base Group plc) is a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of ballistic protection equipment (predominantly body armour) to UK police forces. It is also well-positioned in lucrative, growing MoD and export markets. It is highly regarded in the UK market, and increasingly internationally, as the industry's benchmark in leading edge design, quality and deliverability. This has resulted in Shieldtech successfully winning 13 of its last 20 major tenders. Shieldtech designs, manufactures and supplies body armour systems (BAS) in line with the industry's highest quality standards. HAS provide protection against firearms (ballistic only) and/or a combination of ballistic and stab threats. In the UK, all ballistic apparel supplied by producers has to be certified and validated to HOSDB Standard. Shieldtech's products are in service with over 40 per cent. of the police forces in the UK.
