Does anyone know how to report site issues? I'm using the 'new site' and one of my portfolios shows all my closed trades regardless of me toggling the "Show Closed Positions" button on and off like a loony (functionality works fine on some portfolios).
Can anyone tell me if it's possible possible to switch off the annoying little 'wisdom sayings' that flash up when I refresh my portfolio screen and disappear before I can read what they say?
I have learnt much about stocks from less than perfect procedures on the older Stockopedia site.
I find the new site very frustrating.
Many basic things that are on the old site don't to me seem to be available and so I spend 99.9% of the time on the old version. For example where is "events" on the new site? Occasionally I try the new site, but not for long.
Surely the new site should have had a good go at reproducing most (99%) of the old site before it was released as a beta.
There are several issues I raised when I first joined Stockopedia as areas for improvement (e.g monitoring dividend effects on return on investment), which have not been addressed.
Sadly, Stockopedia seems, to be a "jam tomorrow" website.
On the new site click on the "up" arrow which currently has a +4 next to it. Or switch to the old site where it is easier and more obvious.

It doesn't appear to be possible to 'report' site issues because they want you to have a conversation instead. That means I don't know if my concerns have been taken seriously or if anything will be done about them. This site is a major software development project and should be run as one, complete with appropriate error reporting and followup mechanisms for the beta testers (us).
SUGGESTION. There should be a pinned thread where paying customers can make suggestions and report/discuss problems, complete with screenshots, and for Stockopedia people to provide feedback. There should also be release notes so we can find out what has changed recently.
I am a veteran (>40 years) computer researcher and to me the new design appears to have forgotten about issues like information design, usefulness and usability. In particular, the current home page has lots of wasted space (especially on big windows) and much less useful content than the older home page. Yes you can dig around and find the information anyway but the point of the home page should be to summarise this stuff for you. Lets be clear, the old home page wasn't that pretty but it had higher information content and was more useful.
SUGGESTION. Customizable home pages, let me pick and choose what appears on my home page.
I want to like the new design but I don't. I agree with Armorduck below, for now it is an oversold work in progress.
Conversations do get seen and, hopefully, taken seriously. I've brought up a number of my concerns that way and have always been replied to even if the reply hasn't been what I wanted to hear.
I agree that a pinned or sticky thread is a good idea - of coures, "a conversation" has the benefit, to Stockopedia, of being private so that all customers can't see whether our individual niggles are generally shared or whether the majority prefer things the way they have been developed.
It's so disappointing to find that many ways of working on the old site which seemed so obioulsy good are no longer possible on the new.
Better to be open about what customers are thinking about the new site.
I'd be really interested to know what percentage of people have "permanently" switched to the new site or are sticking to the old one. At least then I'd know if I really am just a dinosaur.
Currently 71% of subscribers have switched to the new site permanently once they've tried it. So you are in the 29% @Laughton !
@epo001 - I understand your concerns. You are right, it is a big software project but you aren't right in thinking we aren't treating it as such.
We have logged more than 10,000 insights from subscribers, which are allocated into a backlog of more than 1000 features. Every insight - whether a suggestion, feature request or bug - is logged, tagged and allocated in professional systems. We use a disciplined agile software development process, with best practice every step of the way.
I'm sure you'll know that software development is a journey, not a destination. We're already publishing our development release notes multiple times per month, as well as being quite open about our upcoming development prioritise on our roadmap. Everybody who reports on a bug or issue is updated personally by myself or my team as soon as it's resolved - no stone is left unturned. Plus we already provide a public discussion space for the community. I'm not sure what more we can do to be more open.
I must stress that we aren't Bloomberg. We're a small team working as hard as we can to build a unique, differentiated, comprehensive product in this highly complex, stock market domain. I'm sorry if you feel the need to publicly critique the work... all feedback is a spur for us to do better, though encouragement is preferred and more motivating!
From my own perspective... I designed almost every pixel of the old site with my own hands, and sculpted it with great care. But I now find it a real pain to use.... I never go there unless I have to which is rarely. 71% of people who have switched over to the new site have stayed - and we haven't forced anyone to move. That proportion grows on every release. So I think we're on the right track.
PS - Regarding the homepage - I agree. I want more data and more customisation on it too. I'm the CEO - but even my requests take time to be delivered. Patience is a virtue and all that...
@intuitive6191 - there's no guarantee on how long the old site will remain in use. My preference is to attract everyone over of their free will to the new site.
I hate to stir the pot - but since you added the little stocko logo against people who post on the new site - I can see the both Graham Neary and Paul Scott are still rocking the original site.

We still have a few "Editor-Only" features to port over to the new site from a CMS perspective. So many in the writing team are still posting from the old site. Many of our admin tools are also still on the old site too so if anyone is worried about it being switched off soon - don't be ! I told you it's a long backlog.

NB - I have noticed that using addressees starting with 'app' rather than 'www' allows you to view the new site, even if you are currently defaulted to the old site. Useful if you want to look at features without having to switch and switch back again.
That's the question that's been on my mind too, with my subscription renewal due in a couple of months time. I really can't get on with the new site at all, its slow/unresponsive and far from user-friendly particularly if viewing on an ipad. So I'm hesitant to renew my biennial plan, especially with no refund offered for any unused months, should you wish to cancel a contract mid-term. I may well drop back down to the 1 year option to see how things pan out, but its disappointing to see that I can't just do this online without the need to 'contact support'? Again, far from user-friendly, and makes it all feel a bit like a Sky TV or broadband contract...

We are paying customers and are being subjected to changes over which it seems we have little influence or control. We are being used as beta testers and should have the transparency of reporting and followup that beta testers require need to do their job properly.
I had composed and deleted a much longer reply because I am not here to have arguments.
On this kind of project I think it really helps if the people writing the code are also using the system to manage a portfolio and use screens to decide what to put in it ("eating your own dog-food" as they sometimes call it!)
You then very soon realise that a quick response when you want to try out a new screen idea is much better than a briefly displayed aphorism!
Or for another example, being able to run through the columns of a table in quick order and get a quick sort on each one is more in line with your mental energies than if there is a rotating busy icon while the column is sorted back on the server.
To someone just creating an attractive website they won't understand why having a local instant sort is so useful. But to someone trying to follow a train of thought it is obvious.
So my suggestion is to get your whole coding team using the site as well as writing it. Maybe have them run portfolios with small prizes for best performance over a month based on automatic screening they've created. That will get them thinking like the users!
