Mike Ashley has today put Newcastle Utd up for sale (again). For once, the team is doing pretty well on the pitch and given the huge investment being made by the likes of Sky and BT in premiership football rights there should be no shortage of buyers for this "iconic brand". With the proceeds from a sale burning a hole in his pocket, is it too far fetched to imagine Mr. Ashley buying the residual part of Sports Direct he doesn't already own and ridding himself of the constant intrusion of being a listed company? Stranger things have happened .....

Gus.
