Spring will soon be upon us! Time to look forward....

For the March 2015 “>20%” monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the March competition is midnight on Monday 2 March. Results will be posted on this thread asap after the March month end.

GKP for the 20% up, 150p takeover bid coming

Afren for 20% down, with the continued absence of a Operations update,long overdue, one suspects there's more to the current problems than meet the eye.Such as the "$235m cash" disappearing via sticky fingers of the locals a la Mart Resources style,a company that sees 20% of its production stolen each month by the light fingered locals.

Brent dropped from c.$60 to c.$55 in March. Not surprisingly oil stock share prices were under a bit of downward pressure. None of the March entries exceeded 20%. The closest one was POS (Plexus Holdings) specialising in oil services equipments and inparticular, wellhead equipments. Congrats to Mach100 for winning the >20% Up competition!!!

The ">20% Down" competition produced many winners, 9 in all. Poor AFR dropped the most with 64% in March. Congrats to GHH, Mrcontrarian, Johnnylite, Proselenes, Peterbill, REO100, Flyingbull, Fangorn and Belgrano2!!!
