Seems like a lot of institutional interest in this company.
Be interested to hear anybodies thoughts on what looks like a very interesting company, that is on my watch list
Hello Andrew,
I was watching tgp but personally I decided it's not for me.
I never researched it super thoroughly so apologies if what I am about to say is inaccurate or not thought through properly.
This is what I like about tgp :-
- Good patented exposure to growth market of offshore wind
- I think I'm right in saying SCSW tipped it recently and he has an excellent investing record
This is what I didn't like
- VC sell out at IPO with predictable profit warning 6 months later. To be fair tgp has regained most of the share price fall but to me that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth
- My biggest concern all along with tgp is why hasn't James Fisher bought it? To me it is an ideal fit for them and they are very acquisitive. If they don't want it then that makes me wonder if they think it's either over valued or maybe not worth having at any price
- I think I'm right in saying the current ceo's father founded tgp several decades ago. I think it's a shame the family have retained very little equity. Also I believe that after IPO tgp purchased Subsea innovations from the CEOs father which if correct seems a bit unusual
- Finally I think tgp still has quite an exposure to North Sea Oil which could be in decline
I still think tgp could come good and best of luck if you take the plunge (pardon the pun).
