just a heads up here really,

Which CFD provider do you use and why?

I'm currently mulling over opening up a City Index CFD account and wondered who others use for their CFD trading.

I've previously used Spread Betting companies to spread bet but dont want to go down that route again, but would like to start to use CFD's for shorting.

Hi mrwhits,

I use IG, I particularly like their Level 2 platform. The platform is very reliable. I've used 4 different providers for Spread Betting, including City, and again I prefer IG. However, I haven't tried City for CFD's.

Why do you make such a difference between CFDs and spread betting? They're essentially the same product, usually run from the same backend, it's just different branding and tax treatment, so a good(bad) spread betting provider should be equally good(bad) at CFDs.
