My experience when visiting Stockopedia is that often I just want to search a company. Rather than just being able to quickly load a search page, I have to jump through some other page, such as your cluttered Today page.
Why not make a minimalist search page that loads quickly and doesn't require all sorts of data loading that's of no interest?
Hi ByronOz, you've got the search box at the top of the page, into which you can type the company name or ticker which takes you straight to the StockReport of that company - does that do what you need?
Were you on mobile when you posted this? If so, I agree with you - on desktop not.
Personally I use the mobile site to search for stocks almost all the time, so having search more central would be better for my use case - although unlikely that's the way everyone uses it.
I think the OP is not searching for stocks but rather reports/discussions about a specific stock.
Rather than a search page I would prefer it if the search engine were a bit better. If I search for PayPal, for example, I get lots of “Levshares x 1 Paypal” etc…. but not actually Paypal. This happens on lots of shares and isn’t very useful!!
Is there a way to search via keywords? I often try to find old threads but usually give up trawling through.

I understand the search box is on top of various pages, I just think a better, more convenient design would be to have a search box on its own page away from all the clutter that I could bookmark and jump to directly when I read something interesting about a company and want to look at its details.
Usually I have little interest on what's on the Today page, for instance.
it's also odd that when you make one of these posts they don't show up easily accessible to the poster, perhaps under your user profile or a "Your Posts" tab, etc.
Instead I have to wade through the current posts trying to find it again. That's unusual.
I just don’t see a problem here ! What could be easier than entering the ticker - or beginning to type the stock name - into the search box? I do that all the time from both iPad and lap top.
I've had some success in the past using Google site search, e.g. site:stockopedia.com keyword
I does seem strange that there isn't a function that searches discussions. There is so much useful content hidden within them and the comments - but there's no function within stockopedia to find it (unless the document has been tagged with the ticker - which is a bit of a 1980's solution). I think the only way is to go outside stocko and use google as wattanut has suggested. That's not perfect either - but better than nothing. Like many aspects it looks like a small fix - but no doubt there's a reason why it's not yet been done.
