About Me:

Four Wise Monkeys is the online investment programme presented by Vanessa Sterling and featuring David Stevenson, Proshare investment club champ Paul Dolman-Darrall and Selftrade's Asset Allocation guru Stephen Barber.

In association with Selftrade, every week we give our range of trading ideas from experienced investors who work with their own money - ideas include everything from sexy value orientated stocks, through to sound advice on the big investment themes and ISAs. All of this in a short bite size vlog, that you can download off iTunes, for free! The Four Wise Monkeys are: When David Stevenson's not writing the Adventurous Investor column for the Financial Times every week (his big theme are weird and wonderful investments featuring everything from North Korea to wind turbines on the Scots borders) or columns and main features for the Investors Chronicle, he's also managing his own moderately successful self-invested personal plan (featured in the Investors Chronicle). Stephen Barber is Head of Research at Selftrade as well as being a fellow of the Global Policy Institute. He takes a long-term view to investment, buying quality and diversifying his portfolio. He's a fan of investment trusts and exchange traded funds as well as shares and takes account of the political and economic effects on markets. He runs his own SIPP but is still some way off retirement. Robbie Burns runs where he blogs his trades - so far long and short trades show profits of more than £500,000. He turned his back on the rat race in 2001 when he discovered he could earn more money from trading than his job as a finance editor at Sky. He's a medium term investor as he likes to do a lot of relaxing. His book Naked Trader is a number one finance bestseller. He believes in simple trading and thinks charts and systems are all blokes' ways of proving they're not just gambling. Paul Dolman-Darrall, twice Proshare UK Private Investor of the Year, is the treasurer of the highly successful award winning Fairer Shares Investment Club. Recently, Fairer Shares slaughtered both the market and a Abbey National fund manager in an Independent newspaper competition. He began investing at the age of 13 with Abbey National shares and has made a profit in each of the past eight years. Described as a "vociferous supporter of investing and investment clubs," Mr. Dolman-Darrall has written and contributed to a number of publications.
