Investment Strategy
I trade... weekly
I tend to buy... after much research
I hold for... years
I invest with... <£500k
Diversification is ... essential to reduce risk
A long-term investor holding quality, healthy-yielding stocks to balance a riskier side of high-growth, high-volatility holdings which promise (and occasionally deliver) jam tomorrow. I like basic industrials, pharma, healthcare equipment, aerospace and manufacturing. I avoid financials and anything that I can't get my head around. And now avoid junior E&Ps / miners as they are a sure-fire way to lose most of your captial.

Rarely do founders of Businesses make good leaders when these businesses have grown massively, as different skill sets are required to keep the business growing and focus becomes tiled towards logistics, processes and controls rather than outright creativity and product innovation. Key is the team around Dunkerton as to whether this company will survive. Personally I think the brand has moved into the older generation…

Carclo (LON:CAR) - it’s 20p when I just looked. Surely value there? Or maybe not. wipac must be worth that on its own. Although the management statement smacks of deer in the headlights. Maybe I read it wrong but it appeared to say that the interim role they created, they just canned... Can’t understand what they are saying. Prototyping is part of every bid, and…

Agreed. I start smart every time I go into Lillywhites’s. A once great store now piled high with tat. But his worst foible is using shareholders money as if its his own - sports direct as his own piggy bank to flutter away in whatever ventures appeal to his whim at the time. Simply put, he just shouldn’t be at the helm of a listed…

Hi Graham, Just wanted to commend you on an excellent report today. There are so many great nuggets in here to help people invest, such as don’t buy professional services firms; even if a company looks great if the spread is huge and free float small then it’s akin to pushing a piano uphill; and even dogs may have their day, best to cash out…

I’m a chocolate lover and agree with Paul on Hotel Chocolat (LON:HOTC). Whenever my better half bought me chocolates from hotel chocolate I found that the packaging was enormous compared to what you got inside, I chucked half of them away as they tasted cr*p (weird flavours) and nearly always they were bought on some sort of deal. I think someone yesterday compared them to…
