What to Watch in the Day Ahead - Tuesday, February 25

    Home Depot Inc is expected to report higher same-store sales in the fourth quarter, as it
benefits from its investments to boost its online business. However, the spending is expected to
hit margins. Investors will also keep a close eye out for any supply chain disruptions from the
coronavirus.  Inc is expected to post a rise in fourth-quarter revenue, as demand for its
business software increases driven by more enterprises shifting to the cloud. 
    Thomson Reuters Corp is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results.  
    Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Robert Kaplan is scheduled to speak before the
University of Missouri at the Kansas City Real Estate Trends Symposium. (0945/1445) Federal
Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida is expected to speak before the 36th Annual National
Association for Business Economics Economic Policy Conference in Washington. (1500/2000) Federal
Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is scheduled to issue nonmanufacturing business outlook survey for

    Macy's Inc is expected to show a fall in profit and revenue during the fourth quarter, that
included the all-important holiday season. The department store retailer, which has been
struggling with increasing competition and a shift to online shopping, was still able to show a
better-than-feared fall in sales during the holidays. The company has also said it would shut
stores and cut jobs as part of its transition program, which will be the focus for investors.
    The consumer confidence index for February is likely to show 132, compared with a prior
reading of 131.6. (1000/1500) 
    Executives at the largest U.S. bank by assets, JPMorgan Chase & Co, will present their
outlook for growth in the year ahead, as they gather with investors and analysts at the bank's
annual investor day in New York.  
    Frac sand miner U.S. Silica Holdings Inc is expected to post a wider adjusted loss for the
fourth-quarter, as oil and gas companies use less sand due to a sharp pullback in North American
fracking. Investors will look forward to updates on its strategy to battle the slowdown in 2020.
    SmileDirectClub Inc is expected to post a fourth-quarter loss due to higher expenses. 
    Bank of Montreal is set to report its first-quarter results. The Canadian bank is expected
to post a rise in quarterly profit. Investors will look out for comments related to impact from
the coronavirus outbreak. 
    Timothy Lane, Bank of Canada deputy governor is likely to deliver a speech at the
Rendez-vous FinTech 2020 in Montreal. (1245/1745) 
    The national statistics agency of Mexico is expected to release GDP data. It is expected to
have dropped to 0.4% compared with an earlier reading of negative 0.3%.
