AIM-listed Baobab Resources is focused on developing the Tete iron-vanadium-titanium project in Mozambique, close to the Cahora Bassa hydroelectric dam. It has good neighbours in Vale and a Tata-Riversdale JV, both developing large scale coal projects. Its development partner, the IFC, is also leading a redevelopment project for rail and road in the area, which will be useful when Tete comes online as either a concentrate producer, or as a long steel and slag product producer. Baobab's project is in a good location for developing an Fe-V-Ti project, while the company itself has a low EV per tonne of US$2.04, compared to US$3.53/t for the industry as a whole.
