In the StockRank Styles framework, Falling Stars is the classification given to shares that are high Quality (but poor Value and suffering from declining Momentum). This is often the territory of failing High Flyers and growth stocks that are slowing down. While their quality remains intact, the expensive valuations are no longer justified and the market savages their share prices as a result. The big hope for Falling Stars is that they transition to either Contrarians or Turnarounds, but they are unlikely to payoff in the meantime.
