UPDATE 1-Turkey's Koc Holding chairman suffers heart attack -hospital official

    ISTANBUL, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Mustafa Koc, chairman of 
Turkey's biggest conglomerate Koc Holding  KCHOL.IS  and one of 
the country's best-known corporate figures, has suffered a heart 
attack and is being treated in hospital, a hospital official 
told Reuters on Thursday. 
    Koc Holding, a conglomerate with businesses including 
energy, automobiles, appliances and finance, accounts for close 
to 10 percent of Turkey's national output. 
    "He had a heart attack. The whole cardiology team is working 
on him," an official at Beykoz state hospital in Istanbul said. 
    Koc Holding said in a statement its chairman was being 
treated after falling ill. 
    Shares in Koc fell 0.9 percent to 11.16 lira by 0828 GMT, 
while the main share index  .XU100  was 0.09 percent higher. 
    Koc Holding companies account for 9 percent of Turkey's 
exports and 18 percent of the total market capitalisation of the 
Istanbul stock exchange, according to an investor presentation 
by the group this month. 
    Among its companies are oil refiner Tupras  TUPRS.IS , 
automotive manufacturer Ford Otosan  FROTO.IS , car maker Tofas 
 TOASO.IS  and appliance maker Arcelik  ARCLK.IS . 
    Mustafa Koc, 55, has been chairman since 2003.
