    The Times
     - British Gas owner Centrica  CNA.L  has signed a 7 billion
pound ($8.45 billion) agreement to buy liquefied natural gas
(LNG) from U.S.-based Delfin Midstream to secure supplies in the
wake of the energy crisis caused by Russia's invasion of

    The Guardian
     - Under the British government's latest "reasonable worst
case scenario", officials believe the United Kingdom could
experience blackouts for several days in January if cold weather
combines with gas shortages to leave the country short of power.

     - The GMB union has submitted formal pay claims to Amazon
 AMZN.O  seeking a minimum of 15 pounds ($18.11) an hour for

     - Ferrovial  FER.MC , Heathrow's largest shareholder, is
understood to be in talks with advisers about a potential sale
of its stake in Britain's largest airport after it fiercely
opposed a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to

     - Britain's postal service faces days of paralysis with
letters and prescription medicines undelivered after 115,000
Royal Mail workers announced they will strike in just over a
fortnight. The Communication Workers' Union on Tuesday said

     - An eight-day strike at Felixstowe port will go ahead
after talks between bosses and unions broke down. More than
1,900 members of Unite will strike from Aug. 21 until Aug. 29,
unhappy with the 7% pay rise offered by Felixstowe Dock and
