NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release - October 17, 2014 Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Announces 4.7% Production Increase in 9M 2014 Chelyabinsk, Russia - October 17, 2014 - Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (LSE, MICEX-RTS: CHZN), Russia's largest producer of zinc and zinc alloys, is pleased to announce its production results for the nine months ended September 30, 2014. Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (CZP) produced 131,469 tonnes of salable SHG zinc and zinc based alloys in 9M 2014, an increase of 4.7% as compared to 9M 2013 (125,609 tonnes). 53% of metal was supplied to the domestic market (9M 2013 - 66%). CZP's affiliated company, Nova Zinc LLC, operator of Akzhal zinc and lead ore mine in Kazakhstan, produced 26,981 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate in 9M 2014, 6% more than in 9M 2013 (25,403 tonnes). Lead in lead concentrate production increased by 16% to 4,113 tonnes (vs. 3,543 tonnes in 9M 2013). CZP's subsidiary, The Brock Metal Company Limited (the leading UK supplier of zinc die-casting alloys) sold 24,148 tonnes of zinc alloys in 9M 2014, an increase by 29% as compared to 9M 2013 (18,709 tonnes). About Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant is the leading Russian zinc producer. In 2013 the plant produced 166,357 tonnes of saleable SHG zinc. According to consolidated IFRS accounts, revenue in 2013 was RUB 13,062 mln and EBITDA was RUB 1,077 mln.
