UPDATE 1-Pizza firm DP Eurasia's 2020 sales rise as online delivery booms

(Adds details, quote)
Jan 26 (Reuters) - Pizza firm DP Eurasia DPEU.L , which
runs the Domino's Pizza brand in Turkey and Russia, said on
Tuesday its overall sales in 2020 rose by 14.6% as COVID-19
boosted shift to home delivery.
Turkish and Russian operations have reached 75% and 90%,
respectively, in digital delivery sales as a percentage of total
delivery sales, the company said.
The group's sales at its own and franchise stores rose to
1.57 billion Turkish lira ($211.86 million), with growth of
26.4% in Turkey and a decline of 6.3% in Russia.
"However, there has also been a COVID-19 inspired shift to
home delivery across all consumer sectors, which has brought us
new customers," chief executive officer Aslan Saranga said.
In 2020, it opened 33 new stores in total, more than
offsetting the 27 COVID-19 related store closures across Turkey
and Russia.
In November-December, like-for-like sales jumped by 38.6% in
Turkey and fell by 1.9% in Russia due to ongoing COVID-19
restrictions.
In 2020, DP Eurasia launched improved pizza and a targeted
television campaign in Greater Moscow to support sales.
The company said it will review the dual listing option of
DP Eurasia at the Borsa Istanbul. urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nL1N2IV0CO
