What to Watch in the Day Ahead - Thursday, August 2

U.S. chemicals producer DowDuPont Inc is expected to report strong sales growth in its chemicals
and packaging business when it reports second-quarter results, offsetting weakness in
agriculture. DowDuPont, formed following the merger of chemical giants Dow Chemical and DuPont
last year, is also likely to give further details on how the proposed spinoff of its various
units are coming along. 

Health insurer Cigna Corp will report second-quarter earnings. Investors will watch for
commentary on its pending $52 billion acquisition of pharmacy benefits manager Express Scripts,
which has not yet received regulatory clearance, and its plans in the wake of the Trump
administration's clampdown on soaring drug prices.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc is expected to report a higher second-quarter profit on growing
demand for eczema drug Dupixent. Investors will watch for comments on drug pricing in light of
the Trump administration's plans to crackdown on high patient costs. Regeneron's plans for
tackling competition for blockbuster drug Eylea will also be of interest.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased to a seasonally adjusted 220,000 for
the week ended July 28, the Labor Department is expected to report. (0830/1230) Meanwhile, the
Commerce Department is likely to say factory goods orders rose 0.7 percent in June, compared
with a 0.4 percent increase in the previous month. (1000/1400)

Duke Energy Corp is expected to post higher second-quarter profit as a heat wave in North
America boosts air conditioning demand.

Investors are watching for signs of a turnaround at AIG Inc, which reports second-quarter
results after market hours. CEO Brian Duperreault, who took charge of AIG just more than a year
ago, has vowed to boost returns and grow the company.

Media company CBS Corp is expected to report higher second-quarter revenue and net income helped
by healthy ad sales.

IT services firm Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp is expected to report a rise in
second-quarter revenue as businesses continue to spend more on digital services such as
analytics, cloud computing and cyber-security.

Videogame publisher Activision Blizzard Inc is expected to report a fall in second-quarter
revenue, as it faces competition from free digital games such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's
Battlegrounds. Smaller videogame maker, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc, is also expected to
report first-quarter revenue below analyst estimates.

NYSE-operator Intercontinental Exchange Inc is expected to post a rise in second-quarter profit
helped by higher market volatility compared with a year earlier.

Kellogg Co is expected to report a rise in second-quarter sales and profit, benefiting from
recent acquisitions and a shift from the direct-to-store delivery system. The focus will still
remain on sales of its cereals, which have been struggling due to lower demand as consumers
choose healthier options.

Norton anti-virus maker Symantec Corp is expected to report a drop in first-quarter revenue, but
post a smaller loss, as it shifts focus to an enterprise model from a consumer model. Investors
will also lookout for updates on its internal accounting probe.

U.S. independent refiner HollyFrontier Corp is expected to post a bigger profit for the second
quarter on higher refining margins.

GoDaddy Inc is expected to report a rise in second quarter revenue, helped by an expanded
customer base and a rise in average revenue per user.

Burger chain Shake Shack Inc is expected to report a rise in second-quarter sales helped by a
hike in menu prices and new outlets in Asia.

Action-camera maker GoPro Inc is expected to report a drop in second-quarter revenue hurt by
lower demand for its HERO5 and HERO6 cameras.

Canadian oil and gas pipeline company TransCanada Corp reports second-quarter results. Investors
are awaiting final decisions by the company on building the Keystone XL oil pipeline and Coastal
GasLink gas pipeline.
