DX expands network with new Glasgow depot

DX, a leading provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure courier, 2-Man and logistics services, is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its network with the opening of a new depot in Glasgow.

The c.20,000 sq. ft. depot is located at Gartcosh Industrial Park, and will serve the Group's Express division, which specialises in secure, next-day parcel delivery. The division's operations in this area were previously sited at DX's Freight division at its depot at Eurocentral Industrial Estate, located on the edge of Holytown and Mossend. This will now become a dedicated DX Freight depot, with further investment planned.

This move now provides both of DX's divisions with dedicated facilities, and will allow the Group to increase capacity and service levels for the important central belt of Scotland.

The opening marks a further step in DX's ongoing £10m capital expenditure programme, which is investing in sites, technology and equipment. It follows the opening at the start of March of a DX Express depot in Rotherham, and a number of further depot openings are planned this year.

DX sees significant growth opportunities for both DX Freight and DX Express, and is looking to expand market share through a focus on driving strong customer service.

Lloyd Dunn, Chief Executive Officer at DX (Group) plc, commented:

"We are pleased to be opening this new depot in Glasgow, which marks another sign of our ambitions for the business. This new site allows us to increase capacity and enhance service levels, and shows our confidence in the growth potential of the business across the important central belt of Scotland."
