Video Transcript:

Each year, the big names in business and politics descent in the World
Economic Forum in Davos. But this year, a few of the biggest members of the
world's elite are missing.

We fully understand that, of course, President Trump will have to stay in DC
as long as the government is facing this shutdown.

Not only the leader of the world's largest economy but also the fifth and
sixth biggest. UK Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel
Macron are both too busy with the business of Brexit and anti-government
unrest.

Each of these leaders has their own issues at home that they need to focus on
and be seen focusing on. I think a trip to the mountains and to the snow would
send very much a wrong signal to the electorate.

Those issues are at least linked to the main topic of this year's forum dubbed
by Founder and Chairman Klaus Schwab: Globalization 4.0, looking at how
technological disruption, unilateralism and economic and trade warfare are
changing our world.

Globalization produced winners and losers. And so there were many more winners
in the last 24, 25, 30 years. But now we have to look after losers, after
those who have been left behind.

That's the question that will be discussed by business and the 65 other
leaders still going including the US Secretary of State and the Treasury
Secretary who will replace Donald Trump. Climate change, too, will feature
high on the agenda. That's if they all can get there. The area was recently
cut off by heavy snowfall, reportedly the worst Europe suffered in decades
