Worries about U.S.-China tensions and rising virus cases are also keeping sentiment in check. On the corporate front, BP BP.L is preparing to sell a large chunk of its oil and gas assets even if crude prices bounce back from the COVID-19 crash because it wants to invest more in renewable energy. urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nL8N2F75VR Activist shareholder ValueAct Capital Management has sold its entire stake in Rolls-Royce Holdings RR.L almost five years after becoming its biggest shareholder, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Asian stocks have come under renewed selling pressure overnight after U.S. president Donald Trump banned transactions with China tech group Tencent and with the owner of TikTok ByteDance. Meanwhile Wall Street ended in positive territory, as investors wait for a deal on a new stimulus package aimed to fight the adverse impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
