BUZZ-Metals & mining: DB sees better prospects outside China

Mon 12th April, 2021 12:07pm
** Consumption growth rates on the global commodity market
are approaching a peak, but should still remain strong through
the second half of 2021, Deutsche Bank says
** Western markets are showing clear signs of recovery and
China should remain robust until the country's government
withdraws seasonal support in mid-2021, the broker says
** For these reasons, DB continues to favour commodities
exposed to recovery outside of China and global decarbonisation
trends such as oil, aluminium, copper and coking coal
** DB's top picks are Glencore GLEN.L with its exposure to
energy transition-relevant metals and Anglo American AAL.L ,
which has started strong recovery after last year's disruptions
** Norsk Hydro NHY.OL can also pick up a lot if Europe and
China pursue more aggressive climate policies and Lundin
LUN.TO offers strong growth at a low share price, DB says
** At the same time, the Swedish Boliden BOL.ST and
British Antofagasta's ANTO.L stock price is high considering
the cash flow risks they face, DB adds and keeps both at "sell"
