Russia's refinery runs up 2.9 pct in May month-on-month

MOSCOW, May 25 (Reuters) - Russian oil refinery runs in May rose by 2.9 percent month-on-month or 159,979 barrels per day (bpd) after seasonal maintenance, data from the Energy Ministry and Reuters calculations showed. According to Energy Ministry data, Russia's idle oil refining capacity has been revised up by 0.6 million tonnes in May to 1.9 million tonnes due to unplanned maintenance. The data also showed that Russia's idle oil refining capacity was expected to come down to 0.9 million tonnes in June. Novokuibyshevsk refinery, owned by Rosneft ROSN.MM , and Lukoil's LKOH.MM Norsi refinery grew their refinery runs by 28.1 percent and 37.7 percent, respectively, after major planned maintenance on crude distillation units (CDU). Kirishi refinery, owned by Surgutneftegaz SNGS.MM , stopped its CDU-2 for unplanned maintenance in the end of April until May, 13. At the same time, the large planned reconstruction on its CDU-1 started on May 16. ID:nR4N0XO01I At the same time the crude runs on Komsomolsk refinery were down in May by 57.5 percent to 65,441 bpd due to a major planned overhaul of CDU-3. OIL PRODUCTS OUTPUT Total gasoline production at Russian refineries rose 6.7 percent in May to 104,013 tonnes per day, Reuters calculations showed. Gas oil production was up 5.4 percent month-on-month at 205,787 tonnes per day. Fuel oil output fell 6.9 percent in May to 197,203 tonnes per day, while jet kerosene production decreased by 1.2 percent to 28,832 tonnes per day.
