    Italy reported 74 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday
against 44 the day before, the health ministry said, while the
daily tally of new infections rose to 7,698 from 5,144.

    Italy's top bank Intesa Sanpaolo has reached an accord with
unions paving the way for the early exit of 2,000 staff that
will be partly offset by 1,100 new hires, the sector's main

    The bailed-out Italian bank said in its nine-month financial
report that revenues in the full year would be ahead of
forecasts thanks to the good performance of fees, while loan
losses would be below estimates and costs in line.

    Italian businessman Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone raised his
stake in the insurer to 6.96%, according to filings published by
Italy's market watchdog. As a result, the consultation pact
between Caltagirone, Italian billionaire Leonardo Del Vecchio
and banking foundation Fondazione Crt holds a total shareholding
of 13.81% in the insurer.

    Atlantia's motorway unit Autostrade per l'Italia on Tuesday
said it had completed the update of its 7 billion euro Euro
Medium Term Note Programme. The updated programme will enable
the company to take advantage of market opportunities, the
company said. In June Atlantia agreed to sell Autostrade to a
consortium led by Italian state lender CDP. The sale is due to
