    The Italian lender said on Monday it would grant access to
confidential data to potential merger partners selected by its
advisers, as Italy presses ahead with plans to cut its stake in

    Italy's second-biggest bank is expected to hold a nomination
committee meeting on Tuesday ahead of a board meeting the
following day that will examine progress made in selecting a new
CEO without, however, taking any formal steps in this regard,
according to two people familiar with the matter.

    Italy's Treasury, which had looked at Italy's third-largest
bank as a potential partner for Monte dei Paschi last year,
wants to sound out whether it could be interested in accessing
the data room, a person familiar with the matter said on Monday.
    The bank has put on hold the sale of 500 million euros in
loans granted to property developer Giuseppe Statuto because
bids received from investors including Bain, Apollo, King
Street, DeA Capital and Fortress were too low, MF reported.

    Moody's on Monday raised to 'Baa3' from 'Ba2' the Italian
American carmaker's senior unsecured long-term rating, while
assigning a 'Baa3' issuer rating to Stellantis, the group to be
born from FCA's merger with rival PSA  PEUP.PA .

    Investors accounting for more than 16% of the Italian bank's
capital are willing to take up Credit Agricole Italia's buyout

its Clubtre subsidiary had concluded at a price of 29.250 euros

    Italy's antitrust authority has ordered the former postal
monopoly to take steps to solve competition issues in relation
to its bid for domestic rival Nexive, the regulator said in its
bulletin.
