Plenty of food (BG/Ophir/PMO/SMDR/SLG/BPC, etc) for thought recently as we get towards the annual "May"hem possibility....sell in May and go away. Is this the year to buck the trend??

For the May 2014 “>20%” monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the May competition is midnight on Wednesday 30 April 2014. Results will be posted on this thread asap after the May month end.

One of my few remaining oilies. Gone are (going back a bit here) Dana, Venture, Coastal and now Heritage.

On Average, May has turned out to be good for oil stocks and less menace than initially feared.

My 55% gain in one month was not enough to win the May >20% Up competition! :-( The winning entry was CAZA, up 86% helped by successful fracking, by Micktrick! Congrats to Micktrick!!!

Micktrick also did the trick with the >20% Down competition, sharing the winner's podium with Casanare, Eastheath, Wshak and our own Ringosstar!!! More volatility is certainly expected with their entry, TRP, when results from current drilling comes through in June, hopefully!
