("IQE" or the "Company") 
Director/PDMR Shareholding

IQE plc (AIM: IQE) was notified on 18 September 2017 Dr Andrew Nelson, CEO of
the Company, received 18,000,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the
Company ("Ordinary Shares") on 15 September 2017, in return for repaying his
existing loan with Equity First Holdings LLC ("the Transaction"). The loan
agreement was due for repayment on 10 October 2017 as was previously announced
on 14 October 2014. Dr Nelson has now repaid the loan in full. 

Post the Transaction, Dr Nelson's total holding comprises of 28,459,218
Ordinary Shares, representing 4.16% of the Company's issued share capital, and
3,145,433 unexercised fully vested options over Ordinary Shares. In addition,
Dr Nelson has 7,532,962 share options, which vest in January 2019 subject to
performance criteria.

The notification set out below is provided in accordance with the requirements
of the EU Market Abuse Regulation.
