EPA Publishes National Drinking Water Standards

 

MYCELX Technologies Corporation ("MYCELX" or the "Company"), the clean water
and clean air technology company transforming the environmental impact of
industry, notes the announcement by the United States Environmental Protection
Agency ("EPA") regarding the first-ever national, legally enforceable drinking
water standards for PFAS exposure.

 

MYCELX notes that the EPA has announced the first-ever national, legally
enforceable drinking water standard to protect communities from exposure to
harmful PFAS substances known as "forever chemicals". PFAS exposure has been
linked to several cancers, liver and heart issues, and immune and
developmental damage to infants and children. The final rule will reduce PFAS
exposure for approximately 100 million people, preventing deaths and reducing
serious illnesses. There will be circa $1 billion in newly available funding
through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help states and territories
implement PFAS testing and treatment at public water systems and to help
owners of private wells address PFAS contamination in addition to a $9 billion
investment to help communities with drinking water impacted by PFAS and other
emerging contaminants.
