I am currently managing my portfolio in Stockopedia but am unsure as to the best way to enter dividends.
I always reinvest dividends but when I enter these as new shares the portfolio tool does not add these as new shares to my original stock holding.
Am I missing something with the software? Should I just add the dividend as a new purchase with no commission so that it shows my entire new holding in the share rather than as a dividend?
Grateful for any advice received.
It's a two stage process:
1) you receive a dividend so add the dividend to your portfolio
2) you turn buy some shares so record this as a separate transaction.
